Find a Dachshund to Adopt

We’re so glad you’re here! Adopting a dachshund is a responsibility and a joy. They have such strong personalities and are loyal and loving. Rescued dogs have traveled a rough road, but we hope to find them a loving home, with a well-informed (about dachshunds) and patient family who can understand them and provide unconditional love (even if they just can’t get the hang of the dog door or going potty outside, they need training, etc).
Our dachshunds are a part of our families; this said, our adoption form is a doozy. We ask a lot of questions and are very thorough because we feel very protective of our rescued dogs! Thank you for taking the time to fill out the application! If adopting a dachshund doesn’t end up working out, you could consider applying to be a dachshund foster with DRUT.
NOTICE: The Dachshund Rescue of Utah (DRUT) —does not— adopt dogs to homes further than the states surrounding Utah: Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and including California (where our 501 (3)(c) is set up and our sister rescue is operated.
